code??
I have a job I'm looking at where there's an addition going up and getting a drain pipe to the new 1/2 bath will be pretty crazy. The customer popped the question about waterless toilets... of course I have never been asked this.
I imagine there would be a mile long red tape trail with the state. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts?
Thanks, gary

Hi Gary,
If you go to the following web site you can look up all products approved by our Board. I do not believe waterless toilets are but even those would have to be connected to a drain.

Good luck,

cat litter, we have a customer who lives on a lake (cottage), there septic field failed an the county wanted them to hook up to the new sant. system. they dident want to spend the money so they got the "dry" toilets.0 -

I think these are Mass Approved. I may be wrong but I think they are being installed in the new High School for my home town.
The designer was at the Mass trade show.
Matter of fact they MUST be approved because they whre installed in the old high school as retro-fits.
Jack is correct, they still must be installed to the building drain.

Scott,
I just reviewed my paperwork for the Manchester/Essex Middle School that I bid last April and the toilets specified were Afwall's with sloan dual flush.
I'm not sure how they were able to install waterless. I should have checked that booth out last Saturday.
Is this the school you reference?

Yes
and I am just going by what I heard. Could be wrong.
I DO know that the exsting school installed some water less unrinals.

There are waterless urinals, not toilets.
But then you could be asking about the decomposting toilets, like I see in the ads in the back of handyman/cottage/hunting mags?
One if I recall has a burner for breaking it down and you just carry out the ashes?0 -

The next best thing
Installed a .8 gallon dual flush toilet that has performed better than I expected. It is manufactured by Sterling, a Kohler company, and the model is Rockport. It has been in almost a year and no one has been able to clog it yet. My cost was about $300 Thanks, Bob Gagnon
