    Was the US Hockey teams victory over Russia in the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid NY and the "Miracle On Ice" made history.

    I still get choked up over this. I was 7 years old and can remember sitting in the den at my parents house watching the greatest hockey game ever played on TV.

    Another time when I'm so proud to be an American.

    We took our family there last winter for a winter vacation and toured the facility. It will give you chills. The arena looks smaller than I remember on TV. I have 2 souvenir pucks from 1980 sealed in plastic and put away for safe keeping. The 90 meter ski jump looks like a monster, every sports fan should make a trip here. It is a beautiful place.

    Still the greatest event in American Sports history. I never tire of Al Michaels saying "Do You Believe In Miracles" Beating Russia was the Silver Medal, They beat Finland 4-1 for the Gold. A lot of people forget that...
