Thermolec Electric Boiler

I just had to say it. My 2 cents is that I pipe most of my electric boilers straight thru, but they are not Thermolec. If there is a chance that the smaller zone would run by itself then p/s would be best and if recovery is an issue a buffer tank would be good but I have mixed feelings about having a bucket of hot water just sitting around waiting ie. standby loss and space requirements. The electric boiler that I use has an outlet temp control and it works well with p/s or straight thru, it also has a 5-6 gallon capacity asme code vessel so it meets my applications well. Best regards,

    Best option

The Thermolec Electric Boiler's Install Manual is,at best, vague. The only information it really gives is a
recommended flow rate of 5.2 GPM.

The system requirements are... Zone 1 needs 3.8 GPM, Zone 2 needs 1.6 GPM and Zone 3 needs 2.6 GPM. Required water temp is 125*.

Would Primary/Secondary or a Buffer Tank be the best option for this Electric Boiler?

    As I recall

that boiler has 1, maybe 1-1/4" connections into the HX. It should be able to flow 8gpm if 1" maybe 12 if 1-1/4".

Usually they will flow the gmp equal to their output as a 20 KW (20 x 3.41) should flow 6.8 gpm.

Most electric boilers are just a tank with elements screwed in. although the instantanous water heaters discuised as boilers have some flow restrictions.

the Electromn.com is another nice electric boiler to consider.
