I am looking for advice on purchasing a gas kit. Are the Bacharach fyrite kits dinosoars now? Those digital kits are pricey and the Bach kit comes with a manometer.

Digital
is the only way to go. The main reason these days is it can measure carbon monoxide without having to resort to a separate unit. Also they save a lot of time over the old "martini-shaker".
Bite the bullet and go digital. You'll be glad you did.
