i use a washing machine hose connected to my transfer pump and another hose to draw it out of a white bucket, and another washingmachine hose attached to a drain /purge valve that way i can see the removal of the air as it bubbles out of the water when the bubbles quit comming out :) it is filled with water....if sediments come out then i flush the zones and refill them...and same same with the boiler. i zone with low amp zone valves...when the zone is by circ you might not have all the air out as some may be Stuck in the circ...
if your circulators have a large stainless steel screw ...that is a means to get that air out and at the same time water cool or lube the circ...

air in pipes
I have a gas-fired hot water heating system with baseboard heaters. I can't bleed the baseboards, but I seem to have air, judging by the severity of the rattling of the pipes. How do I get it out? It's a two zone system. There are faucets on the lines which branch off from the line above the circulator. Do I attach a hose, open the faucet and wait?0
