long time coming
We have a home show next week and pushed to get a web site set up. It is still a work in progress but I like it so far. check it out. Let me know what you think. hansonheatingandair.com0 -
i think it is not easy to develope a web site.
keep after it and it will grow little by little like a tree *~/:)0 -
It's not easy is it!
I think you're on your way. I would rethink the shading on logo and why so many colors? Remember make it easy to read and to get around, update often so people have a reason to come back.0 -
Will,
why not take a Find a Professional ad?Retired and loving it.0 -
Find a Pro
My better half is a webmaster. About all that she could say that was positive is that she likes white backgrounds. The navigation, which is the most important part of any site, is visually hidden behind excessive bars with a '76 color scheme and the rollovers are very 1998.
The logo is way too big and excessively rasterized. There is no footer and one is typically expected, good place for contact info, look at the bottom of this screen for a good example.0 -
Dan: Have you ever considered marketing a a cookie-cutter heating web site for pros on this site to use locally. All with links to heatinghelp.com which will increase your search traffic.

That's a thought.

Thought about it
I have never had a customer who new what I was talking about when I mention the site. In norther California most people who have hydronic systems have no idea what they have. Quite often I get people who buy new homes call us to say the furnace is broken and I go out and its a boiler. We talked about putting a link to Heating Help on our web site.0 -
Thank you
Thats what I am looking for. Tear it up. I am really looking for criticism. Also drop downs are in the works for the buttons.0 -
Ya it was a lot of back and forth
I spent a lot of time looking at other web sites for ideas. I have to admit I have nothing to do with the building of the site that entirely in a friends hands. I am just their for content input. I am really exited though. Its like a new tool or when we finally got a real shop. It just makes me feel like the company is stronger.
The colors match the vans it looks great on the vans it really catches the eye.0 -
I just checked I would be the only Find a professional listed within 100 miles of my area.0 -
You can try it for free for three months.
Type "heating" into Google and see where HeatingHelp.com is in the rankings.

Web Site
I would remove the under construction on the home page. It makes it look sloppy. Would you hire a heating contractor that had a book called "HVAC for beginners" in his toolbox ? That is the only thing I would consider presssing.
Your page title is set to "new page 1" that looks sloppy AND it will have an impact on the way search engines find the page. Also in tabbed browsers (like IE 7.0) people want to know what the websites on the non-visable tabs are without looking. The other pages have some titles but I would include your company name in the title.
I'd put some explaination or caption on the you tube video. people with slower systems might not have the paitence to wait for it to load up and and see that it shows a peice of equipment working in a flood.
You should have some keywords listed to make it easier for search engines to find you. Here is a website that explains a lot about that. http://searchenginewatch.com/showPage.html?page=2167931
I think the site is really solid for what it is trying to do, communicate who your company is and how you can help cutomers solve problems.
Good Work !!!

Personally, I hate drop downs. But I guess otehr people like them.0 -
Google
he's right in that I know nothing about heating (I'm a webmaster http://www.statestreet.com) but I found this site while googeling my heating problems.
Your own search engine ranking will rise if you have your website listed on posts to forums (like this one) on heating.
I'd also suggest that you can encrouage satisfied cutomers to post reviews about your company on sites like angieslist and yelp. But you risk that dissatisfied customers might go there are well.0 -
It's so good
to hear from a pro, no matter what subject. Thanks, Maureen.Retired and loving it.0 -
