Did I miss something??

but I was committed to a friend,, move his kitchen sink on a temporary basis. I decided to use some pieces I had around of Ipex PAP, but was shy a few fittings, so I went to my friendly home center for them.
To my surprise,, no Ipex assortment(it was there before), so I asked the manager,,, he said "all the Ipex stuff was re-called, and I wouldn`t find-it anywhere,, not even my wholesaler tomorrow would have them",,,
Did I miss some kind of recall??,,,I have miles of this stuff-in.

Ipex is not using the PAP tubing for domestic water anymore. Not sure I know the real reason, I was told it was so they could put their efforts toward their PEX tubing. That was a salesman talking.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

  • Thanks Dave,

but I heard there was nothing to be had,, PAP or AP,,,,nothing,,,there was no fittings, nothing to fill a gap,,then when he said a wholesaler couldn`t get them, it started me wondering!
I can see trying to end the DIY market,, but when tradesman are out there,, let us now!

    Class Action Lawsuit

This may help explain your question.
"Class Action Says Ipex Sold Faulty Tubing
A proposed class action has been filed against Canada-based thermoplastic piping designer Ipex Inc. for allegedly selling faulty tubing for use in hydronic heating systems.

The suit was originally filed on Nov. 16 in King County Superior Court in Seattle, but Ipex has since looked to move the case to the U.S. District Court for the Western District..."

There are a number of other lawsuits against other plastic tubing manufacturers. Biggest problem area was Las Vegas due mainly to their hard water. Repiping companies are having a field day.
