Quick Squick Question

Member Posts: 624
I took advantage of today's balmy weather and did a 5 hour cold skim. Then I added a can of Squick. Now my gauge glass looks like I'm making cappucino. Normal?

Why would you do that?
Anything but.
If it was clean, why would you add anything?0 -
extra thorough job
some plumbers would call it going the extra mile. evidently it was not completely cleaned. it should clear up in a day or so.0 -
'cause
I didn't think it was clean. I thought it was dirty. That's why I did the skim. It was my second, after the guys who installed the boiler did two hot skims and added a bunch of sodium carbonate. After all that I still had wet steam. So I skimmed, then removed all the green soda water and replaced it with fresh, then the Squick.
Sure, I probably should have waited to see if the skim did the trick before addding the squick. The scientist in me has regrets. However, it is working so much better now. The radiators are quiet; no hissing vents. Too bad we'll never know if the skim or the additive made the difference.
Also, 24 hours later the water is less brown. It's more like tea now.0
