Electric boiler install pic.

Cool circulator with supply and return sensors.
Just set the desired TD and it varies speed to maintain the setting, perfect match for zone valve applications and eliminates the need for DBV.

    Electric boiler pic

This is a simple "dual fuel" install we completed last Friday, any criticism or concerns appreciated.

We will be installing a Solo 110 eventually.

The home has (3) radiant floor zones and (1) Unico system with water coil for forced air requirements.

    Thanks!

Look's good,! and it's 100% Eff. I wonder what the bill will be?. is there a "special rate? Thermal storage? outdoor reset w. the tekmar? Why use Zone Circs. vs Zonevalves and one pump. Again, Clean looking job! HM.
  • Nice pipe work...

You could have saved yourself one pump (the upside down one) by using the boiler pumps as the primaries. I like your use of thermal traps, and I assume that you are using checked Grundfos pumps on the parallel outputs. I agree with Richard. Whenever possible, minimize parasitic power consumption by using single pump and multiple low VA draw zone valves.

But your pipe work looks excellent.

For control purposes during "peak" shut down times the electric boiler and it's circulator are deactivated, at this time the gas boiler is activated with it's own circulator, thus my reasoning for dedicated primary circulator.

The energy rate is 3.8 on this project.
The 356 is set up for reset on radiant zones.

I do agree that I need to be using zone valves instead of circulators however. (Matched with the Taco "VR" circulator.)

    Ist class.....

install! How do you like the Electro Boiler? I use them all the time, very dependable and a quality piece of equipment. My Rural power company just raised their firm and interruptable rates by more than 20%.
Very nice job indeed. Best regards,
