Most certainly true that this winter has been quite warmer but there is some savings there that puts at at least a wry smile to my face. ;/

    Last year for Jan.-Feb.:

    Therms used- 334

    Supplier charges per therm- $1.19

    Delivery charges per therm- $0.34

    Gas charges total- $513.50



    This year for Jan.-Feb.:

    Therms used- 201

    Supplier charges per therm- $0.99

    Delivery charges per therm- $0.40

    Gas charges total- $281.46

    Pretty happy HO =)

    Not bad but not to

    detract from your success, but factoring the heating degree-days (HDD) into the mix will get you a more representative number and cancel out the weather difference factor.

    That said, nice going!

    Daniel,

    Looks like you took the NSTAR lock-in price this year, too.

    Your #s are:
    Last Jan/Feb: $1.53/therm = $15.37/MMBtu

    Jan/Feb '08: $1.40/therm = $14.00/MMBtu

    HDD difference for Worcester area between last Jan and this year are negligible (1129 - '07 vs 1141 - '08), although this year was actually colder than last.

    I sure did but the outdoor temps as well as every other factor makes it very difficult to have an accurate scientific comparison. To me it's some savings compared to what was in it's place a year ago I'm sure I'm saving some money.
