My ODR causes short cycling as my GV is a simple on / off type. (WM CG Gold CI atmos boiler) Is there a way to replace this GV with a 2-stage unit or anything smarter while avoiding condensing? You know...the shoemaker's kids...

Maybe
a Heat Manager would help?

Wouldn't the beckett manager & the ODR just fight about how long to fire? Will they talk? This is a tN4 system.

min run timer or buffer?
could add a minimum burner 'on' timer, but you would get over shooting, might not be noticeable?
have to decide which causes more of an efficiency reduction, short cycles or cycles a little too long?
adding a small buffer tank could give similar results.

I would think that a smarter valve needs a smarter combustion chamber. in other words a combustion chamber designed for variable combustion.0 -
TN4 SET RIGHT????
The TN4 system allows for multiple cals to be programmed for maximizing boiler run time along with boiler off time... are you sure the settings are correct? perhaps a scene is incorrectly set in on of the smart stats creating the short cycling problem.0
