of Baltimore governmental corruption. Don't think the mayor will do anything, she herself is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation. They actually raided her offices around the time she was sworn in. I can't wait for that set of indictments.....

The cop was on the force for 17 years. Did your new mayor tell him to be a jerk? He would have been a better cop if the person you voted for was elected? Don't try to blame this on the mayor just because you didn't vote for her. That's just wrong and you should know it.

I'm not a lawyer but.....

I always thought that the Mayor of Baltimore answered for the actions of the police department as in ANY major city across the states. Maybe the person that Steamhead voted for would not have allowed rogue a**holes like that one to even exist. The mayor and the cop and the city share the blame and will answer for those actions in the long run in a COURT OF LAW. Not MY IDEA of the law. I'm breaking out my longboard and taking a roadtrip to Baltimore man ! I mean dude! Theres ALOT of cops just like that one. I think its called badge muscles.

If there had been

an adult around, maybe the parent of one of the other kids, this never would have happened.

It sure would NOT have happened if there was a news crew or an adult with that video camera. The last thing the cop said as the camera was being shut of was something like "Is that camera on? If I see my self...." He knew he'd be in trouble if a tape of this got out. Now he's nearly world famous.

but the current administration is a disaster. This is only the latest scandal- every single part of the city government has had at least one major scandal over the past decade or so.

Before she was

elected, she was Council President and has been in the system for many years. I was surprised at the amount of incompetence and corruption in Baltimore City. An investigation into the school buildings revealed work not done but paid for, shoddy work done and paid for. Same work done several times and paid for. The mayor said she would clean it up but of course the millions of dollars stolen from the city residents is gone.

Fire department ongoing problems, too many in the police department suspended with pay so the streets are short manpower.
Building department and permits is another mess.
The Ritz can build an entire complex over permitted height on the waterfront (wonder who got that money) but a small pharmacy on Light Street gets nothing but grief from permits during a rebuild of a row store front. The pharmacy has been a fixture for many years and bought the empty and run down section adjacent to their store. It took over a year for a job that normally can be done in 3 to 4 months.

So the mess falls directly onto the various mayors and council members.

That wild band I was in...

...was out in Carrol County ( like the " Old West " out there ). I took it as a compliment when one of the officers said it sounded like at least 5 musicians...sweet...a little YYZ with a beer buzz and a good dose of CO , lol.
