TV and Steam Heat

below the TV and above the rad. This will deflect the heat away from the TV. Make sure you leave at least 6 inches between the shelf and the rad so all the heat can escape.

    TV and Steam Heat

Making plans to renovate our master bedroom, and I'm stuck on the most critical design issue: where will the TV go? A flat panel LCD-type is part of the plan, but the only reasonable place to hang it is directly over a wall-hung steam radiator. The bottom of the TV would be about 12-18" from the top of the rad. Of course I'm worried that this might bake the TV, though holding my hand at this distance is just pleasantly warm.
Anyone have any opinions or experience in this regard? Any Macgyver-type tricks (baffles? tin foil and gum?) I can use to make this work? Or maybe I'm worried about nothing?
    Thanks,
    Patrick North

    Not a radiator....

but, I have a friend who hung his right above an active fireplace. He has a fire going constantly in the winter and it hasn't seemed to affect the TV so far. (3 or 4 years)

Check some TV manufacturers websites. You can usually find Install manuals online. Maybe they have some recommendations.

    Good luck,

    Jim

This I can do, thanks. The wife will be thrilled.
