eqalizer

there should be no problem keeping the equalizer the same size as the header. Typically a 1-1/2" is a minimum.
As Jim pointed out though, the rest of the piping has to conform to what the manufacturer recommends. But all other things being conforming, if the minimum they state is 1-1/2", I see no harm in using 2".

equalizer
when installing near boiler piping is it o.k. not to use a reducing elbow to the equalizer and pipe back full size 2"to the boiler return. the installation instructions give minimum sizes only.0 -

Equalizer
I don't think that a 2" equalizer will hurt any thing as long as you are following ALL the direction to the tee. The most important thing is to follow the direction as the manf. prints them .0 -
thank you for your input. i thought i'd be o.k. keeping the equalizer the same size as the header but was not sure. one other question, is it necessary to pitch the header towards the equalizer?0 -
yes...
otherwise you will be fighting the condensate as the srteam runs up....kpc0
