Replacing Baseboard without removing the heating element
Is there an easy way to remove old beat up baseboard radiators skins without removing the heating element? I am remodeling a room and the baseboard radiators are dented. Painting them is one thing but I would like to replace just the dampers and the main baseboard body?
Can this be done without installing all new baseboard?0 -
replacing baseboard cover
yes it can be done but only if back piece is held in place with screwa remove cover remove supports by slidding to either left or right you might have to remove screws or nails holding back piece in place then gently remove backpiece reverse to install0 -
If the wall
material is drywall or plaster and the baseboard is screwed in place you are lucky. If it is nailed it is a pain to pull the nails. I have found it easier to use the pin from a slantfin nailing tool to drive the nails through the back of the baseboard into the wall. You could use a piece of steel rod 3/8" in dia..0
