vapor steam problem
3 years ago my co. installed a W/M steam boiler into a existing vapor system. Replaced all near boiler piping as it was original. Replaced 76 Hoffman vent on #300 Reliever vent canister. Last week water was coming out of #76 vent. Replaced vent and cleaned up water in boiler. Couple hours later cust. had not enough heat. Put on different #76 Vent same problem. Raise it up approx. 6" still no good. Temp. install A 3/4" #1 steam line vent system heats up.Any help with this....0 -
The #76
is a vacuum-type vent. It's possible the vacuum was forming before all the air was out, or holding water up in the system.
Whose #1 vent did you use? What make of Vapor system is it?

If the receiver with the vent
is hooked up to returns from the radiators, and it has a Return Trap, it's 2-pipe- more specifically a Hoffman "Controlled Heat" Vapor system.
I would have used a Gorton #2 as it has more capacity. But if the #1 vent doesn't hiss too loud as the system is heating up, you should be OK.
