Furnace only blowing cool air
Last night our heat went out and it is cold in here so I need emergency help. Our electric furnace is only blowing cold air. I turned the thermostat down and it stopped so I don't think that is the problem. Does it have some sort of element that might need to be replaced? Is it something I should call a professional for or can I do it myself?0 -

Check all the circuit breakers/fuses at you power panel and anywhere on your electric furnace, after that, call a serviceperson.0 -
Check the
breakers and try again to recycle the furnace by turning up the thermostat. There are small switches in the electric furnace that may get stuck at times as they age so, if you are comfortable taking off the front cover, after you have turned of the circuit breakers, you could tap on the control box inside, put the cover back on and turn on the breakers and recycle the thermostat again. If it starts you will have heat until the serviceperson shows up to replace the switches also known as sequencers. It would be just a temporary fix before a needed repair. Good luck. Best regards0
