Are you using as an indirect or buffer? I can't imagine it would work as an indirect!?

other than
the heat exchanger not being at the bottom the way its ment to be is their any thing wrong with this. I have never seen it but its seems like it would not hurt the tank.0 -
Not a great idea.
The less buoyant, heated water will want to rise to the top as the cold feeds into the bottom. You'd be missing a significant portion of your heat exchanger if the top and bottom are not where they're supposed to be.

Not sure about SuperStor
but the Phase 3 HL series could be laid down . I think it needed a special dip tube and you lost something like 30 percent of it's ratings , but it worked ( we did it once or twice ) .0 -
I will
Call the manufacturer and ask about capacity loss. I looked around after posting this and found that viesmann makes a 120 that is designed for horizontal. I think i will suggest this.0 -
if you need a better priced unit
crown had 2 horizontal units.0 -
Buderus and Viessmann
both make tanks designed to be installed horizontally.
I agree with others, a Super-Stor ( while a great tank ) is not designed to be installed on its side.
