boiler reset or cold start

sizing,ODR may or may not offer the savings you seek.Honeywell's AQ 2000 and the Tekmar TN4 both have integral zone circ control and ODR as well as myriad other features.I'd probably use a Taco SR504 and PC700 ODR on an existing Hydroair system unless you can confirm that the coils are oversized enough to function with reduced water temps

Went onm a boiler this weekend and noticed the aquastat (for cold start setup) was jumpered to permanently maintain temp as long as power is on to the boiler.

Also noticed the pumps cycle off relays which lack a second contact.

Given the choice between updating the relays, or using reset, which would give the better energy savings?

I'd like to find a control that does reset and pump control in one package, which would seem the best option to me.

System has three zones for hot water coils in airhandler units. Its in a church and those heat managers state for residential use.
    Thanks

Didn't consider that thy're not using basebd or cast iron rads. Never considered that hot water coils would operate much differently from rads.

It only took 5 -8 minutes for the boiler to get the system heated up, so going with dpst pump relays might still get some fule savings w/o too much lag in getting the heat going in morning.

Did notice that one loop had three coils, but at the end the return and supply were connected to each other.
