homeowner dogowners

By a German Shepherd..was on my way out to the truck, came up from behind, bit me across the calf of my leg. I always insisted the HO pen up their dog; cats I could tolerate.

    All Dogowner Homeowners

When you call a tech to your house to make any type of repair and you have dogs, don't ask the tech if he is afraid of dogs. Just do us a favor and put the &^)#$@!*dog in a different part of the house until we are finished. I love dogs......MY DOGS!!!!! When I come to fix your boiler circulator or your sink drain, I don't appreciate the fact that your dog (that doesn't bite)is sniffing my netheregion while I try to do my job. When you ask me if I am afraid of dogs when you answer the door and I tell you I am not, please remember that I am trying to be polite. In the future, you don't have to worry about me waiting outside while you put away the dogs..............I WILL UNDERSTAND!!!
  • i had a customer

tell me that she only bites in response to the amount of the bill; ha-ha. she seemed friendly but hesitant to be petted, but i petted her anyway. but after the second visit, he told me not to try to pet her hind end because she has a thing about it and might bite me. gee, thanks for telling me as i went to scratch her heinie, as most dogs like that and start to play the banjo with a hind leg

    Dogs!

I say "Yes I am please put the dog away."

Then I tell them it was my dog that attacked me and ever since dogs and me don't mix.

It was a terrier and chow mix, blue spotted tongue. It bit me five times I had blood squirting out of my hand like a movie. It was ugly.

So I don't care if its a small rat sized dog, it needs to be put away for me to enter the place. The only dog I am comfortable with is my parents dog, he has been around from before the attack.

    I hear ya....

I have always wondered if any other tech felt this way.

So glad that you stepped up and said what needed to be said.

I'm there to repair whatever is broken and it is a royal PIA to have some dog or cat sniffin' and doing whatever they do in "my" work area.

It is common courtesy to treat me as a guest in your home, just as treat the client's home and property with the same courtesy and respect.

Learned the hard way. Oh, he won't bite.
Well, he does and he did.
    Been there, done that.

If I had some gonads, I'd tell 'em:

"If you want heat (or air), its me or the dog. Your choice".

    But I'm too nice........

    \"He don't bite\"

I hear that so often..and I answer.."then why does he have teeth? Please put the dog someplace confortable." I ask if they have dogs (of cats for that matter, ever since I did a call where htere was a pet bobcat!) and ask that they be caged, or outside or anyplace they are comfortable.

I have dogs, and they do not scare me, and I know how to act, but better for everyone. I remind them that they are legally liable if I do get bit even if it" has never happened before" I am a stranger on his turf. If they refuse, I leave AND send them a bill (rarely get the money and don't fight it, but I push the principle.
