What size boiler do you have, the original contractor may not have converted the boiler to L.P. . There should be a L.P. orifice inside the front jacket of the boiler.
The instructions are inside of the package.
Yes, a good cleaning and proper set-up should do it -Greg

Just looked at a very dirty Knight

about 6 months old. Original contractor never set it up correctly it seems. Its black, dirty and very fuzzy. How many hours to tear it down and clean the combustion chamber and boiler passages??

  • Should be less than an hour.

Brush clean the heat exchanger then spray with a strong cleaner [CLR, etc.] Rinse and let the rinse water flow out the condensate line.

Blow clean the burner and inspect. Reassemble, check for leaks and do a combustion analysis. Adjust to specs.

    Black and fuzzy ?

Hi Glenn, what part of the boiler is black and fuzzy? The flue outlet?
I've had my hands many, many Knights for a few years now, I have also even serviced many after the first year. I have never seen anything close to black and fuzzy...It may take an hour, maybe an hour and a half to service the boiler along with a combustion test. L.P. Gas or Nat Gas?
What part of the country are you from. -Greg

    yes its black -

almost throughout the complete combustion chamber - fuzzy as it exits the flue. We are up high in the Canadian Rockies - just north of Idaho. LPG that I think was set up for nat gas. What I gather then - is that a good cleaning and setup and it will be OK? customer will be relieved -
