corrosive antifreeze

Do you have a pic of the leakage? For the record the bolts on the ultra only hold the faceplate and burner assembly to the block. If it looks like signs of leakage i would pull the cover and inspect for a leaking plug behind the cover. If leaking, replace the plugs. They have plug kits available to fix the problem. It only appeared on series 1 equipment though. Also I can't help but wonder if the correct antifreeze was used. All aluminum block boilers utilize a different sytle antifreeze than cast block boilers. Just my thoughts on the topic.

corrosive antifreeze
Just wanted to read first hand the effects of antifreeze older than three years old left in a mod-con. I stumbled across a Weil-McClain Ultra that has had the same antifreeze in it for about 3 years. The bolts that hold the fire chamber together have signs of leakage from the past, but none recently. Is there harm in leaving the antifreeze in the system for longer than recommended other than it losing it's effeciveness?0 -

Have it tested - PH, buffers etc.0 -
Old Antifreeze
If you have some of that antifreeze I would like to take a look at it. I can give the results of the testing. Give me a call and I will give you the shipping information.
