I'm working on a 2 pipe steam system with a feeder and transfer pump. Have problems with feeder pump running most of the time to kept up with water level. The transfer pump runs not much. The condensate mains run along a wall below the water line and higher then the receiver inlet and then there's 2 45* fitting to pass around a jog in the wall and the second fitting is higher then the first fitting by 2". Then it goes another 20 feet to the transfer pump receiver inlet. right before it goes in to the receiver it drops down 2" before the inlet. would this cause a double water seal.0 -

can some body answer this question.0 -
I think
you might have another problem- does the feed pump shut off then turn back on quickly?

You might have
a bad check valve between the pump and the boiler.
