Thanks Brad. But for some reason I've started coming up as Jeff, but it's Paul.

I'll have to start checking my name when I put in a message. Must be a cookie I can delete.

I deleted all my forum.invision cookies, maybe that will do it.

Anyway, thanks guys. We played there in March too, and it was amazing. Can't wait for this gig.

  • All my friends,,,

    drive a low rider...

You're almost sold out! Looks like 550 to 600 seats and I think theres maybe 40 left. Nice! The dinero is going to be hard for me to swing unfortunately. Two weeks ago some butthole rearended my old reliable no collision insurance car and then ran. I just shelled out to replace it. :(

I'll check your site and see about catching you somewhere else though. Sounds like a good show.

I have a question if you wouldn't mind emailing me.

    Hey Rick

Actually, it was pretty easy. 3 months ago I cold called the manager at the Ridgefield Playhouse, told her who we were and that we would be a good fit to open for the Rascals in March. I sent her our press kit, she liked what she heard and we got that show. The crowd loved us so now we are on the good list.

The biggest pain is that opening acts have to be approved by the main act. As you might imagine, that is the last thing on their list so I takes a ton of calls and reminders from the venue manager before she finally gets an answer.

I can't believe I never knew that was him. I also can't believe that War did all those great songs I grew up with. Like many, I always knew the music, never knew who it was.
  • Low Rider,,,

has a special place in my heart. I was standing in line in boot camp getting issued my uniforms when I first heard it. Now it always reminds me of that moment.

The funny thing is, we're having a very tough time getting gigs at bars. Most places have a regular bunch of bands that play and they won't fit anyone else into their schedule. That's OK by me though, I'd rather play in front of an audience that wants to see the band, and I can be home by 11:30 instead of 3:00 AM

    It's sad

I am asleep before 11:00 just about every night. Must need my beauty sleep (insert joke here)

Oh, no joke from me. If I get to sleep at or before 11:00 I'm good to go, but even 11:05 and I'm a basket case the next day.
