Old Steam Trap in system...replace?

What I mean is: Does the trouble free main meet up at a loop of pipe right at the area of the steam trap? If so So you have a Hoffman differential vapor system. I don't know the best way to test traps but most likely it is failed shut. Do a search here for a company called "Tunstall". They repair old steam traps and also carry innards for most so that the whole trap won't need replacing.

    Old Steam Trap in system...replace?

There is an old Hoffman Specialty 10A Steam trap in a system that I'm trying to help a friend with - I believe the trap has failed closed because they are not getting heat to that section of the building. This is the only trap in the system - I assume that it needs to be there. Funny thing is the steam branches 2 ways from the boiler and there is not a trap on the other side. So I have 2 questions: Why no trap on the other side? and How do I go about replacing or fixing this old 10A trap?

1.) Does the other main loop around and end in a differential loop where the steam trap is on the trouble main?

2.) Tunstall repairs traps and most surely could take care of that one. I'm sure someone else can chime in with more experienced info.

Yes the other side is trouble free and just loops around like a regular 2 pipe system.

The steam trap is on the troubled side getting no heat.
