Remove the 9D before turning the water on, and flush a whole bucket of water out to clean out the new piping. I used to have a lot of real slow leaks before I did this, no leaks after I started doing this. Thanks, Bob Gagnon

Watts Backflow 9D
I have a watts vavle 9D on a shop radiant system dripping out of the vent. I replaced it 2 months ago and it started dripping again, you guys have any ideas?0 -
PUT A SWING CHECK BETWEEN BOILER INLET & 9D0 -
Also...
I've had luck with a check valve BEFORE the backflow device. We use a check before ANY backflow device, and have not had a leaker since.
This goes for the 9D, 909, etc.

Do you use a large draw on the water system in the shop for washing or turn off the water supply to shop at all?
Both of these would have an effect on the 9D seats.0 -
