Nice to see someone else comment about homeshows.
Wolseley Mechanical in Calgary has been participating for well over 20 years in at least 1 to 2 homeshows a year.
We have always had 200 - 400 sq ft of Hydronic Promoted products to display and discuss with Homeowners. We know only promote Hi Efficiency Boilers (IE Buderus GB, Weil McLain Ultra, Lochinvar Knight)plus Fancoils, Indirect tanks, Radiant tube installs and the most popular product of the show- Rinnai Tankless DHW Heaters. We have become a source of information to consumers, and that they WILL find information at these shows when the time comes for there renovation or New Build. Always! Always! Always! have Mechanical Contractors working with us to promote and to set appointments up with the homeowner.
Shows are not cheap, however with the participation of our Hydronics staff, Contractors and Manufacturer agents in the booth, we are all able to promote our Industry.

Tired Out!
The Great Northeast Homeshow in the Albany, NY area is over after a very, very busy weekend. People are without a doubt interested in saving energy now. I darn near lost my voice by the end of the show on sunday. Solar and instantaneous water heaters garnered alot of interest and questions. I had only grabbed a few pieces of Buderus solar literature at the Ashrae show and had to make a few hundred copies myself to hand out at the homeshow. Buderus was out of them from the Ashrae show. The display Buderus GB I had hanging on a stand also attracted alot of attention. There also was extra interest in radiant, much more so than usual. I will track all of my leads as they turn into signed contracts but all in all I felt it was well worth the effort and long days. Smart equipment and smart designs will sell work.

Smart equipment and smart designs....
...go unused without a contractor smart enough to sell them.
Good luck with your leads, Darin.

Well done
Darin
These shows are a lot of work but usually make a difference. The problem for a small shop is always how to promote and install at the same time.
Keep it up!0 -
Too Bad
I am still laid up, I wanted to come by and assist. Boy, are you lucky. I would imagine your phone is going to ring off the hook!
Hey Don, how's the Knight doing? Nice boiler.0 -

Glad you had a good show. I heard it was busy.
A few more leads got to me from the home show, or maybe they are the same.
Check your email, I'll explain.
