strange steamer issues...

So I have an account with a MM LWCO, and a Safeguard 550P probe assy. The probe assy stays on LW and lock out but will fill the boiler if I drain it manually. No heat, of course. Can this be a probe issue and can it be cleaned? As I figure, the float is still working, but not the probe. Second, I replaced a cond tank float a couple months back, but there is steam in the returns, and the box gets steam hot. Is this ruining the nylon (plastic) seat on the float? It is now over-filling at all times. (AND no heat.)

soumds like the probe neds to be cleaned is there a check valve between the tank and the boiler?

Why, yes...there is. The steam in the box comes from a return that I have seen with my camera. The other returns do not get hot. The box boils & steam shoots out the vent. I will have to cut access holes to follow the return and find where steam is getting across. Any favorite way / chemicals to clean the probe?

Just got back. Thanks, Ed!!! That was it, heat's on. Just need to find the steam issue so the cond float can be fixed once & for all.

specs say to pull & clean every year. i'v seen them last almost thirty years with no maintenence whatsoever. & still work perfect. luck of the draw.
