Why I love my job - Alan R. Mercurio

And why I love working for Kosco.<BR><BR>
In 1967 a young couple was purchasing their first new home. Though they had not had the final closing they were moving into the home. When they realized they needed to order some heating oil they contacted several companies within the Hudson Valley. <BR><BR>
They asked if it were possible to just purchase a small delivery around 50 gallons? They explained how they did not want to fill the tank until the closing was final but they promised each company they spoke with that once the closing was final they would fill the tank and they promised to be a customer for life!<BR><BR>
<b><I>"This was back in a day when a mans word and handshake was as good as gold"</I></b> <BR><BR>
Company after company kindly said sorry we cant help you.<BR><BR>
That was until they reached Kosco a company that understood their needs and was ready and willing to meet them!<BR><BR>
40+ years later I had the privilege of meeting this customer today because they kept their promise and for 40+ years we have kept ours! That my friends is what this industry is about.
Ill say it again I love my job :)

I'd like to add
something here. You put it in bold type.
The day may be different, but each and every one of us has the opportunity, or even the responsibility for his word to be good as gold... no matter the day.
Gold. Schmold.
What does it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul?
One more...
A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?
Sermon over... thanks for coming.0 -
Realolman, youre 110% right it just seems it was a lot more prevalent back in the day. For what its worth Im a firm believer in it and my word is as good as gold!:)
