I have Buddy in the truck CD player right now! We just watched the Buddy Holly story staring Gary Busie. What a shame. People has a 'gone too soon' edition at the checkstand with princess diana and Jon junion kennedy, but no mention of Buddy or Richie. I really enjoy his querky voice.

    49 years ago today....

...a plane crash in a Wisconsin corn field killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. Richardson (The Big Bopper). This event was part of the inspiration for Don McLean's "American Pie".

For my money, Buddy Holly was the most inspirational as far as music goes. His music influenced some of the greatest. Paul McCartney said that Holly's music was one of the prime influences of the early Beatles. The music also influenced the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan.

    IIRC

Waylon Jennings gave up his seat on that plane for Valens.

I agree with you about Holly. My dad would usually play his Buddy Holly 8-tracks when we were on road trips.
