Thanks for the reply. You are probably right as the enable kit I have does have the hours dial on the bottom. I looked in the latest catalog and the one pictured doesn't show the dial on the bottom. I was also wondering if I should just switch it to the remote display model as the homeowner likes bells and whistles and remarked right away that the remote unit had no display and he had to go down to the boiler roon to see anything.

Wirsbo Promix 212 error
I have a wirsbo promix 212 that I am using for a 500 sq ft sidewalk snowmelt. I am not using the mode 1 just mode 2 for the snowmelt. It has the snow melt enable kit. After running for a while I get a device error on the 212. The control stays stuck forever in the melt mode until you hit any key and then the device error goes away and it will then shut off when it times out. Sometimes it will run the entire cycle with no problems. This error message is not in the literature. Anybody had this before and can you point me to the possible source of the trouble. When I run test mode on the 212 it goes thru with no errors.0 -

I have run into this same problem.
There are 2 types of Snowmelt Enable Kits (SEK)and only one is suitable/compatable with the newer version of the Promix 212. Does your currently installed SEK have a dial at the 6 O'clock position that you dial in your "Run Time"?
The older Promix 212 HAD to utilize the SEK with the dial so that you could set your run time. The newer Promix 212 utilizes the "new and improved" SEK that does not have the dial and you program the "Run-Time" within the programming of the P212.
Call tech assistance and explain that you think you may have old promix series enable kit trying to communicate with the newer series control. Even over the phone, you should'nt get the "Deer in the headlights" response.
The control revision happened several years ago and you would think that the old inventory would be pulled, but it has happened to me on several jobs, one about a year ago.
Hope this helps.
