boiler temp vs delta T

Would this info have any significance? It seems to me it should, but I can't get my head wrapped around what it is.
When my boiler temp is 184, the delta T of my baseboard radiation is 40°. When it is 163° the delta T is 25°. In other words the boiler temp being 21° higher raises (lowers?) the delta T 15°. This occured during a period of 7.5 mins so I don't think the room temp would have varied too much.
The pump is running the entire time of these measurements.
With the circ. pump running, It takes 5.1 min of the oil burner running @ 0.77GPH to raise the boiler temp 21°
I guess what I'm trying to ask is... how do you determine an optimum boiler temp considering dT and how much fuel it takes to raise the boiler temp?
thanks

Output
I dont know exactly what type of baseboard you have, but if you increase the fluid temperature you increase the output of the baseboard. This increased output has to come from an increased delta-T because the flow rate is constant.0 -
Yes
I can understand that, but wouldn't there an optimum somewhere? Otherwise, what would be the point of the Outdoor Reset?0
