Question on $/sft plates & tube, email only please
Guys, we just finished a extruded plate & tube retro main floor job. Tubing & plates & labor only w/ manifolds in 2 locations. Tough framing, high heat loss, so we did double joist trac plates per bay and 1/2 tube. Total of almost 2800 ft of tube and plates. Just wanted to get email replies on what you all think of per ft or based on above info. PS: all nails ground prior, lots of drilling and some narrow joists where double up framing needed. Thanks in advance, Tim This is not including run backs to boiler from manifold. Just for comparison of locality costs, thanks all.0 -
mmmmmmmmmx
This is a tough question, I have been getting around 4 dollars per foot. But I install onyx tube with no plates. And it twice as easy to install then pex.0 -

I see no mention of time.I know that type of job can be labor extensive.
How many hole did you drill? How many drill bit did you go thru?

Reply to Don
I did mention time & materials as the question but just an idea, appx 200 cross drills, 1.25" holes. All pipe very well insulated from wood at all locations. Thanks in advance. What I am trying to see is I know how long we spent on this project, just wondering what all think of these very labor intensive and costly jobs to do. I will share also.0 -
Ok
I'll shoot you a email. That the only kind of infoor emitter we install in my parts.Infloor is only thought about around here after the house is frame.

Time
Edit: The labor times vary so much based on the installation method chosen and the work conditions that it's difficult to compare without seeing the actual job.0 -
Don, us too pretty much
Most of the big ole houses we work on here have old & new Oak floors, high heat losses, etc etc. Use the heavy plates and plenty of them for good spread. Expensive although but worth it.0
