The green light does more than just blink............
read the spec sheet that came with unit, as the green light is also a test light to check cad cell ohms. This control also has a prime built-in feature.0 -
yes you can jump the cad cell terminals on the 7184 only after the burner has started and running this wil act like the the cad cell and keep the boiler going but after it shuts down after it comes up to temp it wont start again because the control thinks the cad cell is seeing the light before its firing.0 -
7184
What do you mean by prime built-in feature?0 -
It will run for an extended period
during pump prime mode in order to prime your fuel pump without shutting down every three seconds. Look in your instructions, it will tell you how to keep the relay from going into lockout so you have time to purge any air from your fuel lines.0 -
7184- \"A\"
The 7184-A doesn't pre-purge Right?0 -

7184A (Herb read this too)
that's right Todd. The A is a very basic primary with only interrupted ignition. All 7184 series have a green LED test/status light, models # A - B - P - U. The old 8184(gray case) series only has a red lockout light with no troubleshooting/status light, John0 -

R7184's...
R7184A,B & P models are usually OEM's. The "U" models are service controls, and are identical except for the timing. They are available in 15, 30, 45 second timing models, and come with all wiring for use with or without an oil valve. They can be set by dip switch for pre-purge, post-purge, both or none. The V4046A or B oil valve works well. LED flashes indicate as follows: 1 flash = cad cell 0-400 ohms, 2 flashes 400-800 ohms, 3 flashes 800-1600 ohms, 4 flashes >1600 ohms. R7184A, basic primary. R7184B, same as A, but with 15-second valve on delay. R7184P same as B, plus field selectable burner off delay of 30 seconds, 2,4,or 8 minutes. R7184U same as P, plus dry alarm contacts, configurable dip switches. All feature the Enviracom output, compatible with the "OnWatch" Diagnostick, or the Enviralink system.0
