    no way that...

will work. Fin tube is low mass high flow heat emitter...gravity systems are low flow high mass systems. You need the proper size pipe and rad. kpc

    Baseboard

What is the pipe size of this section of HWBB? 3/4"?

HWBB and CI Rads have different flow characteristics. The pressure drop of the smaller pipe in the HWBB creates resistance. The water will travel the path of least resistance therefor the water isn't jumping off the larger main to take the ride along the section of HWBB and continuing on down the road in the larger main to the next Rad.

Was space consideration your motivation in replacing the Rad w/HWBB?

We just finished a similar project that the previous owner removed numerous Rads and replaced them with HWBB...Needless to say we had to repipe new distribution and add zoning to separate the two different types of heat emitter.
