    flash heating with no recirc

anyone ever hear of a system(domestic water)where a on demand hot water heater(steam is used to make 140 degree water.)is used in a large builing (7 story hospital) and there is no storage tank or recirculating line.At each floor there is a mixing valve or tempuring valve.hmmmmm i havent seen it but was told about it.

    Yep...

I worked at Symphony Hall in Boston where such a unit is used for showers... Basically a very small shell and tube HX... They had pneumatic controls and were a little labor intensive to keep running.

    Like this? http://www.cemline.com/brochures/seh.pdf

The units I worked on were almost identical except for the updated controls...

Good luck, remember: Google is your friend!
