I'm considering replacing my 16-year old gas hot water heater with an indirect water tank connected to my 17-year old Carrier/Dunkirk boiler, series: XE4, model: 61S.
The kind folks at http://www.thetankatwaterheaterrescue.com pointed me to this web site for some more help.
How can I find out the efficiency of my boiler? I need to determine which is more cost-efficient long-term -- the indirect tank or a new gas hot water heater.
Thanks for any help!

Why not?
Why not a gas fired tankless (Noritz), and shut your boiler off in the summer? The gas company has a very good rebate deal. If you live in Mass. There was an error rendering this rich post.
