tuff to tell without some missing data, like where the house is located (degree days).
may be ok in mexico, sounds a little low for Idaho or Alaska

Is this heat loss calc ok?
Hi there: Did a heat loss calc (from slantfin) for my 1000+sq ft basement in our 1920's house (7 rooms, 8 windows, 2 outside doors, etc). It came to 23,000 btu. Does that sound ok?

Thermal values
What is the location and outdoor design temp? What was the indoor design temp? Did you use "overall" R values corrected for thermal bridging for the windows and walls? What infiltration rate was used and how was it calculated?
Need more info. Not as easy as plugging numbers into boxes and accepting the result as gospel. GIGO0 -
Slantfin program.
I used the slantfin program and did plug in numbers. This is for WA state and 20 F min in winter with 70 indoor. Some of the windows are single, some double, some with sash and some without and I took all that into account. Was just wondering if it seemed ballpark or way out there.

Whole House
Well I finished my whole house heat loss estimate and it came out at ~74k BTU. Not sure if that's good/bad/whatever. It's a 1920 house and parts are updated with insulation, but we have these cool leaded windows that I don't wanna give up.
The problem I'm having now is estimating how much our CI rad's give off. They're American Rad Co, pretty plain. From the web I esimated 350 BTU/hr/fin for our 18" high ones and 610 BTU/hr/fin for the 36" high ones. (2.25sq/ft/fin for 18" and 5 sq/ft/fin for 3 ft).
Does this sound ok?
Thanks,
