Atlantic City New Jersey...

Wallies, I have contacted by the NJ Building Inspectors Association, and they have asked me to come teach for a couple of days at their annual training seminars, to be held in Atlantic CIty New Jersey.

Having never flown in to this particular area, I am seeking advice on the best airport, then I presume I will need to rent a car to get from the airport to the hotel and back.

Any suggestions?

I always flew in and out of Philidelphia, PA and made the drive in about 50 minutes to the boardwalk. You could always stop halfway in Blackwood and see the boys at Triangle Tube, they are just a few miles off the expressway.

Atlantic City International Air port is very close about 25 min. Newark is about 2 hours away, and Phili is about 1.25 hours away.

A/C Airport

A/C airport is the way to go. You wont need to rent a car,unless your anxious to drive or need a car for some reason.You can get a cab straight to your hotel in about 15 minutes. Newark or Philly you'll need a car (and in Newark a weapon)to get where you're going.

The rental car depot in Phili is 60 miles from the boardwalk, cross one bridge and your nearly a straight shot to the one arm bandits. The pace is quick and drive time is well under one hour.

I found the flights into AC and rental cars to be expensive in the past

Ditto, and thanks to all..

AC NJ is an expensive airport to fly into, an in many cases, would have to fly west to Nevada to get a connection. (A bit rediculous, don't you think?)


Very few direct flights and none that meet my time frames.

So, Philly and a rental car it is.

If you haven't booked a hotel yet....I stayed here about 12 years ago on business...nice 2 weeks. I didn't golf, but walking the course is OK. Rooms are very nice. There is (was) a pub/seafood place across the street for some more relaxation.
