Member Posts: 4
Has anyone here recently taken there Massachusetts masters test? Im going for mine soon and would like to know how the new format is. The application form mentions 25 questions on isometric analysis, whats that all about? How different is it than the journeyman?
Thanks,
Jon

Jon,
# 8381 here. Having taken the Masters in 1971 it certainly won't help to know about that test.
If I understand you, all you wish to know is the actual make-up of the current test? If that is the case you could try calling Old Colony Plumbing School at 508-583-2008 and ask them.
If you are interested in taking a class, they would also be a good choice if they are near you.
Good luck,
Jack0 -
Im not worried about the studying part. Id just like to know the make up like Jack said. I will try calling Old Colony, Thanks!
This is my problem; I keep running into old bucks that took the test back when they punched you in the face if you got a question wrong. We have it a lot easier now!
P.S. You know what they say about old bucks!

LOL, Jon.
A punch in the face-that's exactly what my late Father-in-Law would do if you didn't pay attention in his class.
In his day he was the guy to go to if you wanted to pass the exam and he took it very seriously.
If he wasn't close enough to hit you there would be a piece of chalk or an eraser buzzing by your head if you looked up soon enough. If you didn't you went home with a big white mark on your face.
Thanks for memory,

I took
the MASS master gas in Sept. I am a master plumb 10839; I think i took that test in 1988. Things were different back then (harder).
I took the master gas fitter test so i could employ gas fitters (got permission from Boston). i found it to be pretty easy; I studied for about 3 hours total. I do believe I'm a natural test taker though.

I'm guessing they mean dimensional stuff? Don't let the big words fool ya, if you've been around the block you should be fine.
They gave me two work booklets to reference for the test. Do not speed though this stuff; if you're at all okay with tests all the answers are right in front of you.

Ma Master prep course
I recommend Charlie Bamberg, he is the best. He has the ability to really make you understand this stuff, like Dan H. I took his course in "81" but I recently took a course for the N.H. plum. lic. He really helped me get that one too. He's in Reading and gives classes out of his house. His e-mail is Lefty272@comcast.net Good Luck, Let us know how it works out. Bob Gagnon

I went to charlie
for my journeyman's. He is awsome. I also went to cape cod plumbing school for the masters because I needed scjool hours. If you don't need the hours go to Charlie.
