monoflow tees

Although I've used monoflow tees successfully in the past, there are a few questions that have always nagged me. (1) Assuming a "normal" situation (upfeed radiator, with the monoflow tee on the return), is there a minimum and maximum distance between the first tee (a regular one) and the monoflow tee? (2) how far can one go with the risers to/from the radiator off of the main, without incurring problems? (3) When using monoflow tees for a second floor radiator, with the main in the basement, I use monoflow tees on both the supply and return, but again, how far can one go with the risers?
(I understand that circ. selection plays a role here too.)

Usually
the tees are kept as far apart as the length of the rads,,but some manufacturers claim you can go as close as 6".

I think Taco recomends 18" minimum between tees or other fittings. You need to calculate flow and pressure drop for each branch. Thats the only way to tell how far you can go.
