Hi, i'm attempting to change a honeywell three core plus earth wired stat for a Drayton batt operated stat (apparently only two cables required). The problem i have is this......the stat now turns the heating off when it should be on and vice versa any clues please?

You must be from across the big pond.
Core being wires, without a full understanding, a few extra parts and a bit of tinkering, you will not be able to replace a 3 wire (core) stat with a 2 wire easily.
Easiest way is to find a 3 wire (core) stat for your replacement.0 -
what kind of zonevales do you have? WR, Power open,Power closed?0 -
If you have a power open/power closed zonevalve. then you need a three wire thermostat. Maybe you should ask carol fey on the bottom of the wall there is a "ask Carol fey" For controls. she really knows her controls.0
