Pining Combo Low Water Cutoff/Automatic Water Feeder

If I want to add a low water cutoff/automatic water feeder to a hot water boiler, how should the water supply be piped? By which I mean if it comes from the line after the pressure reducing valve it would seem that it wouldn't add water to the boiler if the boiler pressure was high due to steam buildup. Thank you for your expertise.
