Dans boiler

Here is my boiler and associated zoning. As you can see, it is just thrown together. It was done in 2002, and I have not had time to change/finish it.

I know the radiant supply manifold is upside-down, the pex layout is haphazard, and the electrical is less than neat.

But, it beats the scorched air furnace that was there!

I'm looking for a late model Munchkin 50M to run tandem with the Dunkirk, or in place of it in the shoulder seasons. I want the Munchie to come on and modulate all the time, and on design-day, have the Dunkirk come on for supplemental and to run the snowmelt.

Anyone have a spare 50M with the 925 controller they want to part with?

    Dan
and every other wally. lets get some pics of the boilers in our homes. We all post pics of some great installations that we get paid for lets see what we do for free. I am thinking its going to be like the shoe maker with holes in his shoes. Hopefully next summer I will replace it

    I would love to

We bought the house about eight months ago. The first thing I did is rip out the forced air furnace. Then I started finding leaks under the sinks and the buisness got busy. Try me in another eight months. Lets just say my Wife is very patiant and we have an electric heater for the babies room.

Not a wally but what the heck, it's in the spirit. Here are a few pictures of the system I installed. It replaced the old Triad. Not perfect by a long shot but not bad for my first residential boiler. I've designed, built, maintained, and operated pressure piping systems in industry for many years so the mechanical aspect of the installation was reasonably straightforward.

The installation works fine and fuel use is about 55% of last year. I still want to make a few changes with putting the indirect on it's own loop and use Vision 1. I've got the system at 160 right now and can probably drop that into the condensing range for at least some of the heating season using the setback. Upgraded windows and insulation have helped on this ~50 year old house but I've still got a bit more work to do in that area. Eventually I'd like to convert from the baseboard to radiant but that's ways down the road.
  • thrown together?

could it be neater? yeah.......but it doesn't look very thrown together to me
