G'morning Mr. Dunn:
Very nice work; obviously a lot of thought and care went into this. I am curious...................do Spirovent vents weep or spit so much that they require a seperate drain ??? What's your history been with those ???
Best Regards
Nels

Love to look at pics
I always enjoy when others here post pics of their installations. I always seem to pick up something, sometimes even from the critism's. So I thought I would post some pics of a few of my projects and see what ideas spring up.
Thanks

Combustible base
Nice work! My only comment would be that the garage boiler stand requires a sheet of Duroc or Wonderboard between the boiler and the wood base. The boiler must sit on a non-combustible base.

Nice Work!!
My only suggestions would be...
1. Discover ModCon boilers. You're worth the extra money.
2. Discover reverse indirects. They're worth the extra money, especially when tied to a modcon.
Excellent craftsmanship. You must have had a great mentor.

Thanks Mark
Two of those jobs were waste oil boilers with nat gas back-up. Couldn't convince the owners to go mod con for back-ups. Alot of garage projects we do have no interior water piping or drains so no place for the condensate to go. In WI we cannot pump it out on the ground. So I use the non condensing or electric in those situations. I have about six mod con projects out there now.
I have had many mentors along the way and still call upon them when needed.
Again thanks for the compliments.0 -
Thanks Paul
That project took place a couple of years ago and the owner has since place a thin sheet of metal underneath.0 -
indus art, if yer strictly into
a ruler and straight lines; ie, mechanial drawing. but if you can appreciate the discoveries of coloring outside the lines; here's what can be done with a discarded 8" weld ell, some creative thought/the other mother of invention, and a lot of elbow grease. and.....it won a blue ribbon and put $750 in me pocket
but, if you prefer the straight and narrow; here's my very 1st project from 10yrs ago in my house0 -
It's posts like these...
that make me hesitate to put my own pics on anymore. Stellar work. Beautifully put together. You should be bragging. WW

I do not pipe drains to the spirovent anymore. The very first system I did on my own was a change-out.After installing the spirovent I misinterpreted the supply and return (I know, totally newb mistake) piping and when I purged I would spit out alot of water. At the time I thought this was normal but have since learned it's not. Since that first job I have had zero problems with using over a dozen spirovents.0 -
Nice Bowl!
That's really beautiful!!!0 -
why thank you ma'am
bowls, like wombs, are feminine objects, and it's usually the feminine eye that it catches0 -
What thermometers are those?
Mike, a newbie question, please: on Fireworks 2 you use thermometers on supplies and returns. Cool.
You used 2 formats: dial and linear.
Q: why the different formats, and what manufacturers? Thanks!0 -
thermometers
Hi Gregg, I used two different styles mostly for comparison reasons. I continue to use the linear style because I thought it to be more accurate and they can be readily removed from the well that it sits in. The brand is Weiss (TL5S series).0
