Oops..Sorry I was tired when I wrote that email. I meant to say the return is getting hot and the supply appears to be getting hot afterward via the supply (the system is going backward).
I'm not sure if that makes a difference on bumping up the pressure or providing other suggestions?

How to correctly bleed a convector
We just switched the supply and return on a third floor convector radiator. We have been trying to bleed it for a while and at first it was just spitting air from coin vent. We had to use a monoflow t on the supply in the basement.
Now hot water is getting to supply but not return yet.
The question is...is it just a matter of time simply more bleeding of line?
Also the best way to get air seems to be to turn system on for several minutes and off several minutes vs leaving it on as air doesn't seem to come out. Does this method seem the best way to bleed the line?
Thanks for any help.

Make sure you have adequate pressure on the third floor...maybe even bump the pressure up abit...makes the bubbles smaller and easier to move around. The fluid should be at a standstill when you bleed and have ample oppurtunity for the air to settle out into big bubbles instead of drawn out foam.

nope just in that one area that i mentioned before0 -
actually we found the supply is the line heating up first not the return...sorry for any confusion.
Right now we bumped up pressure just a bit to see if we could push rest of air in return out of line pastthe monoflo-t.
I'll keep you posted.0 -
