If you've ever considered going to Isla Mujeres, off the coast of Cancun, take my advice and GO...
Best week off I've ever had.
Here's the view out our front door.
I'll be back to post more interesting pictures later.
Enjoy, amigos..

Paid avoidance...
We paid to have a driver meet us at the gate with our names on a board. Cost $40.00 and was worth every penny. The ride between the Aeropuerto and the dock was a thrill a moment. These people have no idea what a turn signal is for, and lane, we don't need no stinkin' lanes. We go EVERYWHERE!!
Here's a nice sunset for you.

Solar PV in Isla Mujeres...
I looked high and low, and the only solar PV panel I found was at this light house on the southern most tip of the island. One would think that with the cost of produced energy on this island, that there would be MORE solar PV in use, but none was to be found.
As an interesting aside, the unemployment rate on this island is nil. What with mother nature undoing the whole place every 2 to 5 years, they are in a constant state of construction and or deconstruction/re-construction.
On all of the trees and utility poles, there is a white paint about 6 to 7 feet off the ground. It's an indication of the highest water level seen during the last storm surge.
What a life. You build it, mother nature takes it away. I asked a local (Massage therapist who spoke Ingles well) what it was like on the island during the last storm, and she said "You go home, protect your house as well as you can and pray..." She went on to say that Isla was a better place to be than Cancun during the hurricanes because it "drains so well". She said Cancun was underwater for over a month AFTER the storm. Clogged storm drains and water ways.
Interesting place to say the least...
