in the middle of the floor between two radiant loops.
Use a piece of copper tubing as the sensor well, 1/2" or maybe 3/8" for the tekmar sensor.
Then put a couple nail plates across the sensor well. Some of the nail plates made for CSST gas flex are a lot tougher, tempered steel.
Consider a second well under the board just for backup. it will just cost you some more tubing to install to the junction box.

floor sensor in warmboard
Have a job coming up using warmboard. Want to use what we typically use as stats (tekmar) and want to sense the floor temp. Thought I'd drill out a hole through plate and bore in and under but worried about future nails or ???? Maybe I'll just have to use one of the grooves as the channel for sensor line. Problem is the we try to get to center of floor.... may be difficult
In a slab we snake the sensors w/ bell wire and heavy duty weed eater line through 1/2" pex. Works great and is a cheap snake. Like to make floor sensors accessible in case they fail.
PS Speaking of Tekmar stats I fired one (good thing it was me) just pushing cover on... since then we use stranded wire for flexibility. Sometimes going smaller can be a pain. Good old USA stats usually have lots of room for fat fingers and heavy wire.
Anyway if someone else has come across the same issue and solved better than what I'm thinking.... let me know
Thanks
