How concerend should I be about Legionnaires disease and/or other harmful bacteria developing in my indirect water heater? The water temp from my taps is 120. THe indirect manufacturer recommends 140 to pevent any deseases from developing.
I feel I could lower the temp even further, 120 still feels too hot, however, I am concerend about the potential health consequences. THANKS!

I do believe,....
that all municipal water systems are chlorinated and this should eliminate most bacteria.

but...
I believe the big publicized outbreak have been in urban areas?
its generally suggested to set the tank at 140F and use a potable mixing valve to lower the water temp.0 -
Ha!
I had a big problem with that Black Iron Eating bacteria from an old dug well. We would fire it up to 140 degrees every other week. Cured that problem right quick. Sure, the bacteria was still in there (It came from the well) but it never got to the point where it attached itself and grew.0
