Partial heating of radiator

yes for the most part they are insulated. Some missing here and there. New gorton #1 right next to the takeoff to the radiator in question. Anyway could turning back varivalve vents cause this? Like I said I am trying to make this one the point of least resistance. Also it did heat the other night and last night. Just not as fast or as hot as I would like. The other rooms seem warmer. maybe this room is just a colder room. I have lots of work to do on this old piece of crap house.

    Partial heating of radiator

I recently read a quick comment that if you try to partialy heat a radiator the others will suffer. I have a one pipe steam system and I recently replaced all the rad vents with the varivalves. The huge radiator in my living room on the first floor where the thermostat is was heating up and turning off the boiler. I have since tried to turn back the varivalves so that the point of least resistance would be the radiators on the second floor. It has not improved. Although it seems to have helped one of the other bedroom on the 2nd floor. Last year I didn't pay that much attention and just let the system burn. This year I am trying to turn it back and sort of get some balance. Is it true that turning back varivalve vent on the huge radiator will affect the radiators futher down the line from the boiler? Will it cause them to not heat?
